SMAAA Membership
The SMAAA (Inc) has been set up to help support those suffering from the disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy and their families and friends.
If you would like to become a member of the Association, please contact us and a membership form will be emailed or posted to you. Or you can download it here
What do you get for your membership?
Our membership fees are very low, but they help us with our running costs. Help us help others.
Membership enables you to have input into the direction and future of the Association. It also gives you the right to view any documentation associated with the Association.
At this stage at the Committee's discretion all members are welcome to sit in at the monthly Committee meetings. Although you are unable to vote, you are free to offer input.
Please note this may change as the Association grows due to practicability.
You are also entitled to help in the formation and development of the Association's constitution.
Lastly, you are able to nominate and elect at future AGMs - for the Association's Committee of Management.
Special Requirements for Membership
(As set out in the Incorporations Model Rules)
That any member must either be
(a) personally affected by the disease (Spinal Muscular Atrophy)
(b) be a family member, relative or friend of an affected person either living or deceased
(c) have a genuine or valid interest in becoming part of the association
You must apply to the Committee to become a member and after being accepted (you will be notified via email) you must pay your joining fee and annual fee within 28 days.
